Herbal Deodorant

This may look like the strangest brown stuff for your underarms but it's works hard against your stinking microbes! Our bodies naturally ferment and that fermentation creates the foul smells we detest and attempt to mask. Many retail deodorants mask with strong perfumes and utilize harsh chemicals, many of which are known to cause cancer.  Our family moved to a ridiculously hot and humid southern state and this stuff works! I will say though, this is not an antiperspirant but instead of smelling like Burger King, you become slightly "sour" as in the bread. This "sourness" does not radiate out and reapplication dissipates any adverse situation.

Herbal Deodorant
1 Tbsp. Cocoa Butter
1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp. Shea Butter
1 Tbsp. Beeswax

2 1/2 Tbsp. Arrowroot powder
1 Tbsp. Bentonite Clay
1/4 tsp. Oregon Grape Root Powder

1/4 tsp. Vitamin E oil.  D-alpha tocopherol.
dl-alpha tocopherol, dl- alpha tocopherol acetate or succinate are synthetics to be avoided.
15 drops Essential oils. Your choice.

I prefer to use a one cup glass measuring cup and a mall kitchen whisk, you know, those cute little ones that look like for kids. ;)  Fill a cooking pan with water so the measuring cup is immersed about 1/3 of the way. Turn heat on med-high to a simmer/ low boil. Add the 1st four ingredients and melt. Then add the next three ingredients and whisk to combine.  Remove the glass from the pan and add your vitamin E and essential oils. Whisk, let set a minute to cool a bit & pour into your deo container(s).  Let set overnight before use.

I make a few deodorants at a time and store for later use.
A little goes a long way. After applying, you should not see it on your underarm. Wipe excess with your hand or cloth.
Wipes off clothing with a dry or wet cloth.

Scent ideas: Surprisingly Lavender and Rosemary. Half & half smell "Manly." I usually mix this scent for our whole family.

Lavender. Lemon. Rosemary
Lavender
Jasmine
Rosemary mint
Citrus
